AUGSBURGER ALLGEMEINER
“DREAMING MOVIE SOUNDTRACKS”

Theater Movie “Parktheater”: The Nino Rota Ensemble enchanted

What kind of a magic and charming atmosphere can an exceptional performance of classic movie soundtracks create, has been remarkably demonstrated by the Nino Rota Ensamble from Ancona during a well appointed concert at the Parktheater in Kurhaus.

Even without the support of movies scenes, the 6 young ladies performers has offered a fascinating and unforgettable concert-experience at their last stage performace of their concert tour  “Viva l’ Italia”.

The Ensemble born in 1995 has plunged itself with impressive bravura in the highly rich world of Movies Soundtracks. One of the highlight of their interesting repertoir has been some compositions of the great Ennio Morricone, where alongside his most famous works such as “Once upon a time in America” “Cinema Paradiso” they have also played some of his slighlty less famous composition as for instance the wonderful Love’s theme “Metti una sera……”

Artistic director of this most charming sexstette ist the charismatic pianist Deborah Vico, a versatile and resourceful artist involved in many interesting projekts, also a protagonist in the Pop group “Quintessenza”.

Together with her equally excellent co-artists Federica Torbidoni, Giannina Guazzaroni, Tiziana Santarelli, Graziana Giansante e Cecilia Amadori, she has delighted the audience completely.

This charming small formation has managed to perform with equal atmosphere and grandiosity the otherwise big orchestra composition of Ennio Morricone’s “Mission”, the Nino Rota’s “la strada” and “Otto e mezzo”, Nicola Piovani’s “Life is beautiful” and Michael Nyman’ “Piano lessons”.

A Classy  women’s Ensemble with a supple sound. In the crowded and with a flawless acustic Kurhaustheater, where the elegant  and sinuos ladies’ ensemble seemed to have been inspired  in the look and in the sound by this atmosphere, you accept with benevolence even the most popular rather than superfluous over played hits such as the english musical “Cats” or the Hollywood’s Titanic of Celine Dion.

A rousing lasting cheer at the end of a Concert that has been appealing under more than one regard.

Nino Rota: a feast for the ears

The italian Ensemble “Nino Rota” means not only first class classical music but to its spoilt fans it means also and above all a unique interpretation of the classical and famous movie’s themes.

Amongst the Highlights of the show the audience has appreciated George Gershwins’s “Summertime”, and the unforgettable “Memory” from the english show “Cats” of Andrew Lloyd Webber.

The audience was stunned and completely  taken by the extremely good performance of the Ensemble.

The standing ovation at the end of the concert has showed this appreciation more than words can do.
